honorary patrons

Juliet Stevenson
“I was a part of Waiting [a verbatim/music-theatre piece about British Muslim women whose husbands were held without trial in Guantanamo & Belmarsh] and I greatly admire Metta Theatre’s commitment to bringing such important issues to the public’s attention, and on this occasion with a production full of creativity, delicacy & emotional power.”

Peter Mumford
“Metta Theatre is a young and exciting company producing innovative and stimulating work and I think that it’s incredibly important to support and help propagate both new work and the up and coming creative artists who produce it. Poppy Burton-Morgan and Will Reynolds, the director/designer team at the centre of the company have consistently created quality and meaningful productions. This company is a force to be reckoned with, and an important new addition to the UK theatre scene.”

Laura Wade
From eavesdropping on an intimate encounter in a cafe to marvelling at a fantastical world of aerialists, animation and puppetry that strains against the walls of a large theatre, Metta take their audience on a new journey with every show.  Always inventive and striking, the work is characterised by playfulness and curiosity combined with an admirable artistic rigour and sincerity.  I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.”

patrons

Without the valuable assistance of our patrons it would be very tricky for us to develop our productions and see them staged. We are very grateful for all the support we receive, both financial and otherwise. If you are interested in becoming a patron, please contact us via support@mettatheatre.co.uk.

production patrons

Our production patrons are people who are interested in supporting a specific show. Their contribution of £250 or more goes directly into the budget of the show, helping to pay for sets, costumes, venues and cast.

In return we thank our production patrons with a credit in the programme for the show (where desired, some of our patrons prefer to remain anonymous), a pair of tickets for the show, an invitation to a special drinks evening with a chance to meet the cast and creatives and other events tailored to the show, which may include invitations to rehearsals or opportunities to interact with and explore the set and props.

company patrons

The support of our company patrons allows us to develop work over a period of time, without the pressure to bring it to performance before it is ready. It also allows Metta to invest in shows and subsidise those performances which might not otherwise be financially possible.

The donation of £500 or more is acknowledged on our website and in the programme for each show. Company patrons are also invited to each Metta production and to the patrons evenings and events attached to each show.

If you are interested in being involved in a smaller way, have a look at our friends scheme. If you are interested in getting your organisation involved with the work that we do then please see our affiliates page.
